VE3TDS - 145.01 MHz
In Fall 2009, VE3TDS was pressed back into service as the primary link radio system bridging VE3PRC in to the Southern Ontario Packet Radio Association (SOPRA) backbone network. Until recently the VE3TDS node stack and its user port has been off the air for a few years now after servicing the Western Greater Toronto Area (GTA-WEST) for over 10 years from Bramalea. The node had user ports on the primary 145.01 MHz packet channel as well as 441 MHz and 220 MHz backbone links. NEWS FLASH: VE3TDS 220 MHz Link Radio is is online supporting the VE3PRC node stack The proposal between the GTA West ARES Packet Working Group, the Southern Ontario Packet Radio Association, Inc. (SOPRA) and the Peel ARC Inc. has been approved by the Peel ARC. to install the VE3TDS 220MHz link radio at the VE3PRC (Brampton, ON) node site that would act as switch between VE3INF (Acton, ON) and VE3CON (Weston, ON). The VE3PRC node site was a good candidate location to put VE3TDS (formerly on 145.010 MHz) back on the air as the Toronto Digital Switch for the Greater Toronto Area West. Under the current proposal the node VE3PRC would remain as the user port on the frequency 145.010 MHz and SOPRA will provide and maintain the nodestack infrastructure and high speed link radio.
